Campus Flat Rate Bitstream (ADSL)

Set-up:

• if you are using Bitstream with another ISP transfer cost $22.22 (Telecom charge)
• for new Bitstream users wiring and connection fee $145.05 (Telecom charge)

All plans include:

• All plans come with our MoE funded CampusNet service
• Domain name hosting for 1 .nz domain name
• 20MB website hosting (excluding the U050 special plan)
• Static IP address
• 5 POP or 1 SMTP email account(s)
• We run our international bandwidth at a considerably lower (15:1) contention ratio than most major ISPs. This is because we understand the needs of schools and facilitate optimal speed between the hours of 9am-3pm
• Definition of ‘Contention Ratio’: All ADSL lines – regardless of service provider – are subject to contention, meaning that the network bandwidth available is shared between a number of subscribers. The ratio to which the available bandwidth is shared between users is called the “contention ratio”. Services targeted at casual home users are frequently cheaper, but have a higher contention ratio. This means that the available network capacity is shared between a greater number of users. Business services have a lower contention ratio, which will provide a more consistent level of performance.
