Social networking
Want to know why we block social networking sites such as Bebo.com and MySpace.com? Read on…

Some of our customers are members of the “social communities” based on the www.bebo.com and MySpace.com sites. There have been many ‘incidents’ involving these sites that are of an extrememly disturbing nature.

One of our customers had a young family member targeted with extremely inappropriate material by a fellow bebo participant – it is highly likely that the sender of that material portrayed themselves as a young person but was in fact an older person (most likely male).

As a precaution against a repeat of this situation, we have blocked the www.bebo.com and MySpace.com sites.

However, we do remind customers that, as for all interactions involving the Internet, it is of paramount importance that you do not assume that anyone contacting you is whom they say they are or that their reasons for contacting you are necessarily bona fide. Children should check with their parents or teachers if in any doubt.
