NETWORK STATUS : There are no known faults on our network.
EduNet is an exciting new Internet service from Vector Communications Ltd (www.vectorfibre.co.nz) that utilises their fibre network around Auckland and is available to your school through Watchdog. It offers very high speed access to education resources and also unlimited Internet access at high speeds.
Watchdog’s CampusNet Internet filtering service (funded by the MoE for all state and integrated schools) works well over this network so we can therefore offer you the advantage of a single point of contact for both Internet and filtering.
There are three types of services included in EduNet:
- EduNet Access – access to online resources such as TVNZ, TV3 and eCAST with e-asTTle, hosted LMS and SMS applications expected to be available shortly.
- EduNet Peering – connections to Telecom, Telstra and APE (Auckland Peering Exchange) for local New Zealand Internet traffic
- International Commodity Internet – international Internet connectivity for all other websites; this currently includes Google traffic but this may change to Peering in the future.
EduNet can replace any current Internet connection used by the school.
Pricing : Please contact email@example.com for options available
For state and integrated schools, Watchdog’s CampusNet service is available at no charge, including our CampusNet firewall installed at the school (if required). If your school already has a CampusNet router, we will waive our standard reconfiguration charge of $100 excluding GST.
An initial indication of how close Vector fibre is to your school can be obtained at http://www.vectorfibre.co.nz/the-vectorfibre-network/coverage but please check with us as well!
